Platelet Rich Plasma

The Natural Path to a Youthful Glow

PRP Therapy

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. Firstly your skin will be cleaned and blood will be drawn from the arm in order to extract the platelets. Your blood will then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the blood. When this plasma is injected into the skin, the growth factors within the plasma begin to stimulate new collagen production.

 PRP Therapy for the Undereye

Gradually and naturally, volume loss that’s caused by the natural course of aging is reversed. Specifically, the under eye area is restored, resulting in a brighter, smoother, more youthful appearance. PRP Therapy under the eyes helps to tighten loose skin around the eyes, lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and eliminate bags under the eyes..

As far as under-eye circles go, it is also the best known treatment to date for dark circles caused by hollowness or pigmented skin. The science behind the tratment is that the platelet-rich plasma will induce your under-eye area to create more collagen and blood vessels and thicken the skin there. In turn, you not only have new skin with a healthier structure but there will also be more flesh in between your blood vessels under your eyes and the skin of your face. Both of those things reduce the appearance of under-eye circles, which has been repeatedly proven in studies.

PRP Therapy for Hair Loss

Injecting the growth factor-rich plasma into the scalp helps to stimulate the hair follicles and promote new hair growth

PRP Therapy for the Hands

Stimulates cell regeneration and new growth, which in turn takes wrinkles, mottled skin and makes it smoother and more youthful.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: Harnessing Your Body’s Natural Rejuvenation

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a non-surgical approach to facial rejuvenation, utilises your body’s own healing potential to promote smoother, younger-looking skin.

The Benefits of PRP Therapy:

  • Natural Skin Rejuvenation: PRP harnesses the power of concentrated growth factors found in your platelets to stimulate collagen production and cellular renewal, leading to a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Targeted Treatment: PRP therapy can be used to address various concerns, including:
    • Loose Skin: Improves skin laxity on the face, neck, and hands.
    • Scarring: Reduces the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.
    • Hair Loss: Promotes hair growth in both men and women when combined with other hair loss treatments.

Personalised Approach at Sayonara Beauty:

During a comprehensive consultation, our experienced team will assess your individual needs and develop a personalized PRP treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

The PRP Process:

  1. Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn.
  2. Centrifugation: The blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma.
  3. Injection: The concentrated PRP is then strategically injected into the targeted treatment areas.

Following injection, the growth factors in the PRP stimulate the regeneration of skin cells, leading to increased collagen production and improved skin texture and volume.

Frequently Asked Questions

We advise all our clients to be patient and let your skin and scalp heal properly hence this varies for everyone. For the skin and face concerns it will takes few weeks for the results to show. However, it is recommended for two to three top up treatments for results to last up to 12 to 18 months.

There is no recovery time period with the PRP treatment however, we do ask clients to take precaution after their treatment. The side effects are rare but occasionally some clients may experience bruising, pain and redness in the treated area.  This will subside overtime.

Pain is minimal and sometimes we use a numbing cream prior to the treatment depending on the area being treated.

PRP therapy isn’t suitable for everyone. Here’s a breakdown of people who generally should avoid PRP injections:

Medical Conditions:

Blood Clotting Disorders: If you have a condition that affects blood clotting, you might be at higher risk of bleeding after the injection.

Autoimmune Diseases: Certain autoimmune diseases can increase the risk of complications from injections with PRP, as it concentrates inflammatory substances.

Uncontrolled Diabetes: Uncontrolled diabetes can impair healing and increase infection risks, making PRP less suitable.

Other Considerations:

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Due to a lack of safety data, PRP is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Active Infection: Having an active infection anywhere in the body increases the risk of infection at the injection site.

Certain Medications: Taking blood thinners or medications that suppress the immune system might need to be paused before and after PRP treatment, depending on your doctor’s advice.

Severe Allergies: If you have a history of severe allergic reactions to injectable substances, PRP might not be suitable.

Very Thin Skin: In some cases, with very thin skin under the eyes for example, fillers might be a more appropriate option than PRP.

PRP therapy is generally considered a safe procedure, but like any medical intervention, it does carry some potential risks and side effects. Here’s a breakdown of what to consider:

General Risks of Injections:

Infection: As with any injection, there’s a slight risk of infection at the injection site. Proper sterilisation techniques by the healthcare provider can minimise this risk.

Pain and Discomfort: You might experience some pain or discomfort during the injection itself and potentially some soreness or tenderness at the injection site afterward.

Bleeding: Minor bleeding at the injection site is possible.

Nerve Injury: There’s a very small risk of accidentally nicking a nerve during the injection.

Tissue Damage: Improper injection technique could damage surrounding tissues.

Risks Specific to PRP:

Allergic Reaction: While rare, an allergic reaction to the concentrated platelets in PRP is possible.

Incomplete or Unsatisfactory Results: PRP results can vary depending on individual factors, and the desired outcome might not be fully achieved.
